Nissan says its new supermini car will be sold in North America.
The Japanese automaker says it plans to sell more of its iconic minis at dealerships, including in North American markets.
It will also offer a limited edition of the model that has been sold in Japan and the United Kingdom.
Nissan says the first 500 of the supermini will be made at its U.S. factory in Dearborn, Mich.
The company said it expects to sell a total of 400,500 of the vehicles worldwide by the end of 2021.
The company says the minis are “built to last and designed to inspire a sense of wonder in the heart.”
The U.K.-built model, which the company says will be “the ultimate in sporty style,” has been the subject of a high-profile bidding war between buyers and buyers’ rivals.
